You know what the best part about Christmas is? It’s your family coming together. If only temporarily, having everyone under one roof again is the most uplifting and happy feeling (unless you have one of those families where you act normal for all of 5 minutes and then its mass chaos). Ahem…mine would be the mass chaos version. My brother came home from his out of state college to spend Christmas break at home. And well…needless to say he wasn’t home 5 minutes before we got into some shenanigans.
So let me start by saying, there is nothing quite like a warm, homemade pie with a gooey filling and a flaky crust on a brisk, November day. And today just happens to be the perfect day for prep work. I’ve got lunch on the stove. The stove has made it warm and toasty in the kitchen so we have the window above the sink open. We can hear the rustle of the leaves we have yet to rake as they blow in the wind. And of course we have good ‘ole George on the radio.
Its November guys. How did this happen? Okay okay…I know. It is still technically October. At least for the next 8 hours. But seriously, how can it possibly be November? I feel like I just started the first semester of my senior year and now its almost over (no complaints here).
As it turns out, computers and beach…they don’t get along. I mean WiFi signals are just too
persnickety (we’ll dive into how fun the word persnickety is later…). But back to what I was
saying, WiFi signals are persnickety. As in they do not like venturing past the cold boundaries of
the beach house. I do not blame them. Nothing quite like that sweet air conditioner. However,
the highly adventurous part of me dares to trade air conditioner for back sweat and salt water
(highly appealing, I know).
Family vacation Day 1 Hour 10: Mom and I have finally convinced dad to suffer through a country music station just long enough that we may enjoy a reprieve from “play that funky music white boy” and an inordinate amount of Styx and Queen songs.
Did you know that it has been two months since I’ve formulated any kind of post or funny anecdote for your reading pleasure? Yes, it has been exactly 65 days, 12 hours, 36 minutes and 11 seconds since my last post! Okay well…the timing may not be exact. I might be off by a second or two! But never mind that, let’s get back to my prolonged absence. Would you believe me if I said I was kidnapped and held hostage by a posse of large, portly goblins…only to escape and begin a two month adventure with thirteen dwarves? No?! Me either…sounds like the plot to a movie…
Hello one and all! I greet you today with a short message. You guys are smart. Your intelligence far surpasses my own. How you may ask? Because like the title of this post suggests…Oklahoma girl had a dressing room mishap. I know you good people wouldn’t get yourselves into such a situation. I, on the other hand, seem to be having embarrassing mishaps right and left.
